Choosing The Best Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis can result in severe foot pain if it is not managed properly. One of the best ways to treat the problem is to use the appropriate plantar fasciitis shoes. Usually people do not pay much attention to this fact but using the right shoes does work. Even doctors say that once an injury such as plantar fasciitis has occurred, the feet cannot absorb the tons of body weight without proper protection and support.

Often, when people with plantar fasciitis go looking for comfortable shoes, they end up getting their injury triggered even more. People usually do not know how to find the appropriate shoes that will support their heels. Here are a few tips to consider before buying products.

Firm heel support

Shoes designed for plantar fasciitis should offer firm support to the heels. If the sole is too bendy or soft, the heel may collapse when you press on the shoe. If the shoe is too much flexible and bends in half easily, it is not the right pair of shoes for feet with plantar fasciitis.

Further, heel support can also be provided by choosing shoes with medium heels. It is important to note that flat shoes will trigger the pain and so will the ones with high heels. A perfect pair of plantar fasciitis should have a slight heel only just to support the feet. The heel counter should also be firm and not too soft.

The arch area

Before buying the shoes for injured feet one should always check the sole at the arch area; the sole should be straight along this area and should not be too narrow. It should be wide enough to offer a comfortable base to walk.

Enough room for shoe inserts

The shoes should have enough room inside for shoe inserts and orthotics. Usually shoes are not designed to have more than required room inside. In order to be sure your shoes fulfill this need you can buy a larger size, get shoes specifically designed for injured feet or buy shoes with removable inserts.

Feet stability

A perfect pair of plantar fasciitis shoes will have proper stability control; patients with plantar fasciitis over-pronate when they walk, and to prevent this from aggravating the problem, shoes which offer sufficient stability should be used. In particular, all kinds of running shoes are known to have a great stability control so patients can conveniently buy good quality running shoes for casual wear.

Considering these tips can solve the problem to a great extent, but, however, if the problem is too severe and serious, the patients should consult their podiatrist before they start using any kind of shoes. It is always best and recommended to seek professional help if your case doesn’t fit in the general definitions. Interchangeable Shoes – Swap Top Shoes

Interchangeable Shoes - Swap Top ShoesThe idea of interchangeable shoes has been around for a little while now. There are a few claims as to the first to come up with the idea.

I believe it’s between Lyndsay Phillips and Dominique Barteet, although there may be other claims.

Dominique Barteet was the recent winner of Shark Tank on US TV with her very impressive performance of her Onesole brand of interchangeable shoes. Dominique had developed her shoes after working on her feet for 12 hours a day as a pharmacist. She wanted a shoe that was comfortable. She developed Onesoles with Soft-Step insoles and interchangeable tops.

Dominique Barteet’s Onesole shoe idea is a 20 year vision that came to fruition in the year 2002. She wanted to create a shoe that would be versatile, fun, economical, and easy for travel. You can virtually have a closet full of different shoes with a couple of her soles and some tops. Each sole has interchangeable tops that fit every sole with just a couple of snaps. This enables you to match any outfit easily, economically and with great comfort. The idea has been patented and is constantly expanding every day to fulfil an innovative shoe niche in today’s market.

Lyndsay Phillips however has a most interesting and equally impressive claim.

Lyndsay developed her concept whilst still in high school. She designed a pair of ceramic flip flops, received such a huge response that she knew a great idea had been born. Lyndsay’s first product was SwitchFlops which uses Velcro as a method of securing interchangeable straps. Before graduating from high school, she applied for the patent.
